Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) are the regulator of Health and Social Care in England. Their job is to check whether hospitals, care homes and care services are meeting essential standards.
The practice was inspected in May 2013 and the team were thrilled to hear some very positive feedback about the service we provide to our patients. We are pleased to report that we met the standards required in all of the areas inspected:
- Respecting and involving people who use services
- Care and welfare of people who use services
- Cleanliness and infection control
- Requirements relating to workers
- Assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision
All the team at PDC work hard to constantly maintain and improve the highest of standards, so we are delighted to receive recognition and praise.
The key area we received the most significant praise for was
Cleanliness and Infection Control.
During their visit, the inspectors spoke to staff, patients and reviewed our practice policies, records and audits. They found:
- Positive feedback from patients. One commented "I've been coming here for years and never know the practice to look unclean." Another remarked "the cleanliness is perfect."
- The practice has a fully modernized instrument sterilisation room which uses state of the art technology and equipment to ensure the highest standards of cross infection control are met.
- The practice has developed rigorous policies and procedures which are reviewed regularly - both internally and externally.
- All staff are regularly trained and updated on the latest equipment and procedures.
- Waste is disposed of appropriately and safely.
